Szabad! (Written exercises on grammar and vocabulary)
Multitest Hungarian (Multiple choice tests, advanced level)
Verba (Conjugator)

These programs are the first (trial) versions of some components of a complex multimedia software package (teaching/learningmaterial) which is being developed at the moment. In their present form,  like several other KaleidoVox software,  they are freeware,  thus feel free to download, copy, duplicate and distribute them, provided that you distribute them without changing them or charging for the copy in any way.

Our software are normal Windows applications, they have been developed with Visual Basic 4.0 in two versions: for Windows 3.x (16 bit) and for Windows 95/98 (32 bit), respectively. Their use requires the presence of some DLL and OCX files in the Windows\System subdirectory. If you are using other similar Visual Basic programs, you may have all of these files installed on your computer, in this case you can run Szabad01, etc. without any trouble. However, you will probably have to install these files now. In this case, it seems to be a good idea to install now, once and for all,  the set of  files you may need in the future for running any KaleidoVox software. The two sets of setup disks below (for 16 bit and 32 bit version, respectively), include everything you may need. Just download them into a temporary directory, decompress them (they come in ZIP format) and run setup.exe.

Setup disks:
16 bit (Windows 3.x/95/NT)
32 bit (Windows 95/98)
vb4disk1.zip
vb4disk2.zip
vb4disk3.zip
vb4_32d1.zip
vb4_32d2.zip
vb4_32d3.zip

Maybe you are a Windows 3.x user and you want to use only the Szabad programs (that don't work with databases). In this case you will probably be able to do so after copying the next files into your Windows/System subdirectory:  vb40016.dll; anibtn16.ocx; comdlg16.ocx; oc25.dll; threed16.ocx; typelib.dll. (However, maybe compobj.dll and some other files have to be renewed, too.)  If you want to, you can download these files one by one from here:

vb40016.zip; anibtn16.zip; comdlg.16.zip; oc25.zip; threed16.zip; typelib.zip ,

or you can download them together:  vb_minim.zip .

Verba
(Hungarian  conjugator)

This program gives all the finite and non-finite forms of more than 14.000 Hungarian verbs. If requested to conjugate a verb (or another word with the formal characteristics of a Hungarian verb) that is not included in its database, the program gives the possible forms of this supposed verb on the basis of the formal points of reference the user has offered. Nevertheless, it indicates that the "verb" in question does not appear in its verb list.
